At age 13, Joan of Arc had a normal childhood. She is the daughter of Northern French peasants. Joan attended masses and prayed frequently to God.
Am I gonna end up like these skeletons on the wall? Or are they just gonna burn me at the stake?
In 1420, English King Henry, obtained the throne. The dauphin Charles insisted that he was the rightful king of France. Charles made an even bloodier fight between England and France. Joan had to fight the next rightful king for France.
Sentenced to being burned at the stake!
But God told me to do all of it!
Joan of Arc gave the French hope to win the war. Joan's first change on the way to north was to free the Orleans. Joan got priests to find her armor in Orleans. In the middle of the battle, Joan was shot with an arrow, she pulled it out, jumped right back into the war.
Now what? I'm a dead legend!!
She was captured by the Burgundian leaders. Thrown into prison too. They had a ransom for her after a month of life in prison. Joan was sure they would soon kill her.
Trailed for witchcraft and heresy. The court made 70 accusations against Joan. She stayed true to her beliefs. Later executed.
Joan was burned at the stake. Her life became a legend. Many people gathered to watch Joan be burned at the stake. In 1920, Joan was recognized as a catholic saint.
