Storyboard Text

  • That't right Joey, I'm starting to think that you don't need my help.
  • Well I am getting better but there is one thing I still need help with, and it's the difference between a synaptic cleft and a synapse.
  • Not to worry all I wanted to tell you was that when you talk about the sensory side of the spinal cord you would use the dorsal horn, dorsal root and dorsal root ganglia.
  • Oh no, before we get into that, I almost forgot an important step in the formation of the motor pathway.
  • Oh okay, I though you were going to tell me that I had to memorize all of the nerves in the body or something.
  • What do you mean forgot. I thought we covered everything.
  • Well a synapse is where neurotransmitters are transmitted and that thing ACH is called Acetylcholine which is a neurotransmitter responsible for muscle reaction.
  • Okay back to the synaptic cleft and the synapse. The synaptic cleft is the space between a neuron and its joining point.
  • So what is a synapse exactly and I keep hearing people talk about something called ACH what is that.
  • Oh so that's what it means, okay so that must mean that it is responsible for causing an action potential right.
  • Not exactly but your on the right track. An action potential is where a nerve receives a signal and determines if it wants to send it down the line or keep it from moving any further.
  • Well at least thanks to you I won't fail this test that we are about to take.
  • Hey Tyrone because of your expert schooling I was able to make an A and pass the class.
  • So glad I was able to help out and anytime you need my help again just ask okay.
