Storyboard Text

  • Exposition
  • I love my new bakery! I can't wait for opening day.
  • Inciting Incident
  •       Rising Action
  • Linda Rose, a spontaneous twenty-four year old just out of college, spent all Summer remodeling the broken down building on fourth street. After getting her business degree, she was determined to open up her own bakery. Now that it was October, she had the perfect opportunity to create her specialty Halloween desserts.
  • Climax
  •  Should I invest in this or should I give up?
  • Linda had many superstitions, one including the number thirteen. She knew it was unlucky; she was too anxious to wait another day before the grand opening. On October thirteenth at 10:00 AM the bakery was opened. With excitement, she walked to her bakery. As she unlocked the doors, she felt as if something was off. She walked in to roaches and mice crawling all over the walls and floor.
  • Falling Action
  • Astonished, she dropped everything. Holding in her tears, she politely asked the line of customers waiting outside the door to leave. Linda was smart, but she had no idea what to do. Instead of panicking, she immediately called an exterminator.
  • Resolution
  • The exterminator arrived. Just seeing the look on his face she knew it was bad. "This is horrible ma'am, this will cost a fortune" the exterminator said. Linda dropped on the floor and started crying. All four years of college to get her business degree, plus all the money she spent towards the building and supplies now goes to nothing.
  • Linda decided to demolish the building and start over. She spent a week trying to get the roaches out herself; she couldn't. The cost for the exterminator was too much. She got herself into so much trouble she didn't know what to do next. After seeing the destruction she decided to walk home.
  • Linda realized she had made a huge mistake. She knew just coming out of college and opening a business was too soon. She then told herself, "The next time I invest in something so big, I need to make sure I'm ready for any setbacks. Maybe I'm just not ready for all this, I knew my gut was telling me this would be unlucky."
