In the beginning, there was ice and snow, and the sea was calm. Animals were healthy and happy, because they had adapted to the cold, gradually. Suddenly, the climate has become more volatile, and the prospect for change happening more rapidly than can be adapted to is very real.
In the beginning there was cold, and the cold was good. Ice formed, and stayed that way
Sometimes even deep into the summer, animals could haul out on it.
Something has changed, and the cold doesn't stay, and nothing is consistent.
Storms come more frequently and there is no ice to stop waves from happening
Where is the ice? What can the animals that use it do?
How do we know what's happening below the surface? What change is down there?
