I started school at the age of 3 because my parents wanted me to. They thought I was smart for my age just for having memorized the alphabet and nursery rhymes.
I remember being excited about my first day that my parents were even teasing me that I should be left alone after they get to drop me at school. However, things didn’t go as we planned.
As soon as we stepped inside my assigned room, it was a mess– every single one of my classmates was crying with their moms comforting them.
Even at a young age, I knew I was pressured enough that I started to cry too. Both of my parents were short-tempered that I knew they were pissed at me at the time.
A ittle while later after everyone had calmed down, our teacher instructed us to have our photo taken for the school ID. I became unruly once again. My parents were already dragging me to the photographer to get my photo taken.
I remember I was ugly crying as I sat in front of the camera. It was wicked that I managed a smile under my tears. It was an iconic memory.
