  • This is my house
  • In 410AD, the Roman Empire was falling apart. They were being attacked by germanic tribes so they left Britain.
  • To celebrate this, the British people destroyed all the fantastic Roman inventions. That is usually called the dark age.
  • This is our new king, king Canute.
  • The Roman Empire refused to send the Roman army to help fight the anglo-saxons, so lots of people started to live in Britain.
  • King Canute
  • King Harold Harefoot and Hrthacanute
  • King Edward
  • After about 400 years, vikings started invading England and soon started living in England. They lived in the north of England and the anglo-saxons lived in the south.
  • In 1016AD, Canute became king of England. He was the king of England, Norway and Denmark. Even though he was a viking, he wanted to be friends with the anglo-saxons.
  • When King Canute died, his sons Harold Harefoot and Harthacanute, became king. When they died, Edward the confessor became king.
