This Girl Is On Fire
I've learned to love my curves, my womanliness. I used to hide it, to downplay it. But now I revel in it.
Alicia Augello Cook was born January 25, 1981 in New York. When she was 7 her mother, Nikki Augello put her in piano lessons.By her mother making her stay with the piano, it allowed her to go to Manhattan's prestigious professional performance Arts school. Here she majored in choir and had academic excellence. She graduated at 16 and got her first record deal in 1998.Even though she got a full scholarship to Columbia University she left after 4 weeks to pursue her music career.
The head of Arista Records (Clive Davis) left to work at at J Records in 1999.Keys followed and moved to J Records instead.Unlike other pop culture artist Alicia sings, writes, and produces her own music.Arista Records didn't allow her to release certain songs and such in her depute album, so she finished them there. Before the release of her depute album Davis got her small appearances and venues to promote her publicity. The Day before her album released she went on Oprah.
Over the years Keys has won many Grammy's. For example Best song of the year, Best R&B song, Best R&B album, Best female R&B Vocal performance, and Best new artist. She has inspired so many people that you can achieve what ever you want. For being singer, actors (as she is as well) and overall success. She made a statement by not wearing any makeup to show that you can be beautiful without it.
