Storyboard Text

  • ...
  • Don't worry. It's going to be ok.
  • They caught the next train out and Jamal still wouldn't say a thing. This is a mid-length shot that you are able to see both the expressions and all characters in the scene. Also there is little to no colour used and everything is mostly a shade of white, grey and black except for Latika's top.
  • Everything is so expensive.
  • ... But we have all the money in the world.
  • As the train slowly moves Jamal still thinks of Salem and what they had been through as siblings. This scene shows no colour and is a close up of Jamal as he recalls the past so the reader is able to see Jamal's expressions well.
  • What about this home?
  • Jamal recalls the memory of his mother yelling at them. He almost is bring to tears after the two are yelled at but Salem calms Jamal down. This image is a long shot to show the apartment the two are living in. The only bright colours used are the one on Jamal and Salem's clothes. By using a filter I tried to make the scene look unclean and dirty.
  • After getting off the train Jamal and Latika sit down for a bite to eat. As both have never been really rich they are cautious about the prices until they're reminding of Jamal's wealth. This scene in a mid-length so you able to see the items in the background and there is more colour showings its a happier scene.
  • After walking around for several minutes they spot a house near the cafe that was perfect for them to be able to start fresh. The home was small and cosy; the perfect place for a young couple. This scene is a long shot so you are able to see the setting and again all colours are very bland except for Latika who has found a home for the two of them.
  • They bought the home after they had a small ceremony for the passing of Jamal's brother. He wasn't the best brother but he was still family. In this scene, there are dark colours used except for the flower. The flower is coloured to show growth and a new start.
