The NWMP were also significant in the Klondike Gold Rush. The gold rush in Yukon was a big deal for Canada, and the NWMP were stationed at the entrances and all around the gold mines. They acted as a sort of a border patrol, because they helped keep the Criminals from most places, but mainly Alaska, out of the gold mines.
