The main idea/important event in Gn 8:1 is when God says he will never curse the ground because of human beings ever again. The first thing that happens is God pulls back the flood, he stops the rain and he sent a wind sweep over the earth. Next, at the end of the forty days noah sent out a raven. The raven had flown back and forth until the water dried off. Noah then sent out a dove but it flew back because the earth filled with water again. He had waited seven more days and released the dove again this time the dove came back with an olive leaf. Noah realized that the water on earth had diminished. He waited seven more days and released the dove again then it did not come back. Finally in the six hundred and first year God said to Noah to leave the ark with his wife and sons and son’s wives. God also told Noah to take all creatures. Noah Built the Lord an Altar and offered him burnt offerings.
