Storyboard Text

  • Hello!
  • I am James Madison from Virginia and I have a plan for our government, I called it "The Virginia Plan"
  • Loser!
  • Oh hi! It is a pleasure to meet you. I am William Paterson from New Jersey and I am also here to propose a plan for our government, I call it "The New Jersey Plan".
  • It is a pleasure. I would like to explain that my plan is 100% better than yours, it has a bicameral house, and the representation in those houses is based on population. I am being supported by the elite there is no way my plan in not going to be accepted.
  • As we all know that the Articles of Confederation are a weak form of government, it brings political tension, South Carolinians are facing this same problem, between the elite and the subsistence farmers. We need something new...
  • Which is so much batter than the spoken Virginia Plan.
  • What about the smaller states! It also consists in 3 branches of government, but has one house with each state having one vote.
  • James Madison explain the Virginia Plan again
  • Yeah
  • But if we are going to do that, I think that we should create a bill that would protect people's rights.
  • I think both plans are great. We should combine them in a "Great Compromise ".
  • That is a great idea.
  • Yeah, It sounds great.
  • So, this Great Compromise should have a 3 branch government, it  should be bicameral, one of the houses should be based on population, and the other one should be based on equal representation.
  • That is a great idea.
  • I think slaves should not be counted on the population
  • That is great.
  • Yeah
  • What do you mean? Of course they should be counted as population.
  • I think that for each 5 slaves 3 should be able to vote in the congress.
  •
  •
  •
  • AYE
  • So, after all we discussed, I think we should ratify the U.S. Constitution. if you agree say "AYE".
  • Ok, I can agree with that
