Storyboard Text

  • Antigone and Ismene are arguing over the idea of breaking the law to bury their dead brother. Antigone wants to obey the laws of the gods and bury him, while Ismene wants to obey the laws of the city.
  • Please help me Ismene.
  • No, it is against the law.
  • Since Ismene wont help her, Antigone has taken matters into her own hands. She has gone out and buried her brother Polyneices. Creon has sent a sentry to find who has done this but they think it is a man.
  • Hope I don't get caught.
  • Antigone is finally caught by the sentry. Both her and Ismene have been brought to Creon who has decided to kill them. Creon later has a conversation with his son Heamon who tells Creon to not let his mind be clouded by pride.
  • Kill them both.
  • Antigone has been sent to a stone vault to die. The chorus seems to have now changed their attitude towards Antigone. They feel pity instead of disappointment.
  • This is all Oedipu's fault.
  • After Antigone is sent to the vault, Creon has Teiresias tell him a fortune. He sais that if he does not fix what he has done soon, Thebes will be struck by a plague, and people inn his family will die. The chorus has done a paean to help Creon on his journey.
  • I must go quickly then.
  • Creon goes out and fixes everything but it was all too late. He found that Antigone had hung herself, his son Heamon had stabbed himself next to Antigone out of greif, and came back to find that his wife had also stabbed herself because her son was dead.
  • Do the gods have no pity for me!
