  • Braddock was a British officer in the 13 colonies during the start of the french and Indian war. He led the attack in 1755 when the British sent a force from Virginia to attack the french fort Duquesne.
  • Braddock got annoyed at the slow pace of his soldiers and decided to split up the troop and travel through the rocky, dense woods with lots of men.
  • Braddock and his troops arrived in Virginia to fight against the french in north america.
  • The French realized that they couldn't withstand the cannons, so they chose to attack Braddock as he was passing the Monongahela River.
  • Braddock was warned about the way that the French fight differently, but he ignored the efforts. Soon, Braddock, the British commander, and Beaujeu, the French commander, were both killed. George Washington took over.
  • The British attacked the French Fort Duquesne and defeated the French. George Washington became leader by taking control of the troops. Otherwise known as Braddock's defeat.
