  • Alright kids today we are going to talk about juries.
  • Glad you asked Katie.
  • What's a jury?
  • You can be part of the jury if: You are at least 19 years old, a Canadian citizen, and be a resident of the province.
  • Any adult Canadian citizen can be called for jury duty.Some people may not need to do jury duty by the laws of their province. A prosecutor may object a juror.
  • For Criminal cases: 12 jurors Civil cases 6 or 7 jurors.
  • After all the witnesses have spoken, the judge instructs the jury on the law and what they must understand when making their decision.
  • The sheriff is responsible for making sure that the jurors attend.
