Wow! This random email I just got from a Nigerian prince that says if I pay 200,000 dollars to help free his brother from the Spanish government he will return the money to me and give me 1 million dollars! Easy money here I come!...
Is what I would say if I wasn't aware of the risks that comes with online messaging like Phishing messages and how to spot them. Firstly, the 'Nigerian Prince' scam has been around for almost a decade and a half and is basically a running joke at this point. Second of all, if this prince had 1 million dollars to give me for paying for his brothers release from prison, why would he need my money?
You've got mail!
Sometimes I turn the spam filter in my email off, it makes me feel popular.
