Matilda and Grandfather Are Sent To The Country
Bye Mattie! I'll see you again, I promise!
Polly worked as a servant for the Cooks. She was the first one to get the fever in early August of 1793. The cooks were devastated to find out Polly had died, especially Matilda, Polly was her best friend.
About a week or two after the news that Polly had died from the fever, Mother started to feel sick. Dr. Rush said it was nothing but the Cooks soon realized that it was something more, the fever.
After Mother was diagnosed with the fever, Dr. Rush told Matilda and Grandfather to go to the country. They were sent because Dr. Rush did not want Matilda and Grandfather to get the fever, along with Mother.
