the three kinds of rocks are igneous rock, sedimentary rock, and metamorphic rock.
Okay class, who can tell me what the three kinds of rocks are?
We are going on a field trip to see what the rock cycle is.
That rock is anyone of the three kinds of rocks. The lava and magma will melt the rock and when the lava or magma cools it forms igneous rock. If the rock is formed by magma, it is an intrusive rock because it is formed inside the volcano. If the rock is formed by lava it is a extrusive rock because it is formed outside the volcano.
Okay class do you see the rock that is in the volcano?
The rock will eventually be turned into sediment. then eventually that sediment will turn into sedimentary rock because of weathering, erosion, compaction, and cementation.
Any rock can be turned into a metamorphic rock if you apply lots of heat and pressure. the two rocks there are igneous and sedimentary rocks. The rock below it is a metamorphic rock. Eventually both igneous and sedimentary will be turned into metamorphic.
Then lets list our findings.
Okay class did we learn something?
Deer: The three kinds of rocks are igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic. Dog: Igneous rocks are made from cooled lava and magma, and can be classified as intrusive or extrusive. Peacock: Rocks will eventually become sediment and sediment will eventually be compacted into sedimentary rock. Deer: Metamorphic rock is formed from rocks being fused together by heat and pressure. Dog: eventually the rock cycle will repeat again and again until the end of time.
