In 1941 congress passed the land- lease act. This act allowed President Roosevelt to lend or lease weapons supplies and equipment to any country who defense was critical to U.S security.
On December 7, 1941 Japan attacked the U.S naval base at pearl harbor, Hawaii. This attack sank/damaged 8 U.S battleships. More than 2,000 people lost their lives.

Richard helped bring an even greater military presence to GA. He served one term as GA governor and seven consecutive terms as U.S senator. He worked to make sure the U.S was ready for world war ll

Carl Vinson served GA for 51 years in the white House of Representative. He made it his mission to ensure that the military received as much funding as funding as possible. Russell and Vinson helped develop programs around the nation but mainly in GA.
William helped locate Atlanta airport in 1925. He promoted air transportation throughout his career and directed the building of GA expressway system. This helped improve transportation system, goods move quicker.
Allen served as mayor of Atlanta from 1962 to 1970. He also helped improve transportation throughout Atlanta with Marta.
