Leonore Goldschmidt was born November 16, 1897. Her parents were Wilhem and Jenny Marcuse. She had one older sister named Martha Marcuse.
Leonore married Ernst Goldschmidt in 1923. Together, they had two children, Gertrud (1924) and Rudolf (1925) Goldschmidt.
Leonore was a teacher for many private and public schools. She was later let go from her position because of Jewish inheritage in 1933.
During the time of her release, a close cousin of hers died. Leonore inheritded all of the money they left behind. She decide to open an all Jewish school with this money.
.When Jewish started to get taking by the Gestapos, the school shut down, and many people went into hiding. Leonore started to move the school (along with students and teachers) out of Germany
She successfully moved out of Germany and opened up a different school, teaching more Jewish students. Because of this, she was later awarded an Academic Award and a Golden Globe Award. The reason for these awards is because she documented the experience in her new school.
