The main idea/important event in Gn 9 is that God made a Noah a covenant ( agreement with God like a wedding vow). The first thing that happens is God blessed Noah and his sons and said be fertile and multiply and to fill the earth's ground. Next, God explained that the covenant that there would be no more flood to devastate the earth or destroy every mortal being. He then planted a vineyard and drank wine and became drunk and laid naked in the tent. Finally, Ham saw his father naked and the next day Noah had seen what he had done. Noah died after nine hundred and fifty years. A life lesson we can learn from this passage is to give others a second chance when they have made a mistake.
" God said to Noah and to his sons with him: See, I am now establishing my covenant with you and your descendants after you" (Gn 4: 8-10).
" Noah, a man of the soil, was the first to plant a vineyard " " He drank some of the wine, became drunk, and lay naked inside his tent" ( Gn4: 20-21).
"Ham the father of Canaan, saw his father's nakedness and he told his two other brothers outside" " Shem and Japheth, however, took a robe, and holding it on their shoulders, they walked backward and covered their father's nakedness (Gn 4: 22-23).
