  • Homer A. Plessy refused to sit in a Jim Crow car, so he going on the white folks bus even though he is 1/8 black.
  • ARGUMENTS FOR THE PETITIONER
  • If you were black in any way, you were forced to ride in a Jim Crow car, but Plessy wouldnt put up without a fight, causing him to get in serious trouble.
  • ARGUMENTS FOR THE RESPONDENT
  • Is separating blacks and whites from public transportation an act of racial segregation?
  • DECISION
  • Homer A. Plessy thought that it was unfair that he could not ride that bus.
  • Although whites and blacks ride different automobiles, they are still equal.
  • The court decided to establish the ''separate but equal'' rule.
