Huck wants to talk about the dead man at breakfast but Jim is superstitious and refuses to discuss it at
Huck goes back to the cavern and finds rattle snake
Huck then violently kills the snake with a stick
Huck decides to curl the snake up on the on the foot of Jim's bed ever so natural, thinking there'd be some fun when Jim found him there
When Jim finds the snake he is presented with another, not dead snake who then bites him ( the theme of the chapter is, in our minds, one should act in a polite and friendly manner even when no one is watching or a devious moment is presented )
After the incident, Jim is forced to lay up for four days, because of the intense swelling.Huck feels bad for what he had done to his dear friend.(during this time Jim states that" he druther see the new moon over his left shoulder as much as a thousand times than take up a snakeskin in his hand." this is an example of the foreshadowing)
