  • Malcolm was born in Omaha, Nebraska in 1925. He lived with his parents Earl Little and Louis Norton Little and lived with his 7 siblings.
  • in 1929, At the age of four, Malcolm and his family moved to Lansing, Michigan. In 1931 Earl Little's body was found on the train tracks which was ruled as suicide but the black community knew it was murder.
  • After his father died his mother had emotional trauma after not being able to receive life insurance because it was ruled suicide. All of the children were split up among different homes. Malcolm bounced around foster care homes before moving to Boston in 1941 and then Harlem in 1943
  • In 1946 Malcolm got involved with crime and spent 6 years in prison. while in prison Malcolm improved his education and learned about the Nation of Islam and converted.
  • Malcolm supported Black Supremacy and gained a lot of support.  But after a fallout with the Nation of Islam he traveled to Mecca to find true Islam and began teaching peace for all races
  • in 1965 Malcolm X was assassinated by Nation of Islam members in the Audubon Ballroom. Over 20,000 people attended his funeral.
