  • LIFE BEFORE FARMING
  • DISCOVERING FARMING
  • Now we have plenty of food
  • 8000 years ago, men would hunt and women gathered wild plants for food.  Humans moved when animals moved.  Humans followed where there were more animals.
  • FARMING COMMUNITIES
  • I want to eat that goat
  • If a natural disaster hit the nomads, it would reduce all the food in the area around them.  They would have to repeat moving again because they needed to find more animals and plants to survive on.
  • NEW LAWS
  • Years later, the Nomads were finding ways to domesticate animals in order to be able to have meat and milk.  Nomads also learned to grow their own food without having to gather random fruits and berries.
  • TRADING
  • want to trade
  • When smaller communities joined larger ones, there was a surplus of food for community members.  Ox driven plows helped build better farms and wheels helped transport food for trade.
  • As more humans gathered together to make communities, the need for laws and leaders were essential for survival of individuals.
