• ﻿Okay everyone. Here is our equation that we will dissect and complete!     6x - 2 = 22
• ﻿
• Education Institute
• We must add 2 on each side of the equals sign. If we do that, it should be    6x = 24
• Students in these hallowed halls, students are working on algebra.
• Very good! ﻿ Then you're left with a one step equation, meaning there is only one operation left to perform. What should it be? And what will be our value for x?
• The students are working to solve this equation     6x - 2 = 22
• ﻿﻿Well we noticed the variable and the constant were next to each other with no operation between. We decided that the number and letter were being timesd, so we divided by 6 on both sides and got 4 for x.
• Students work together to Isolate the variable. They begin by doing inverse operations
• Adding 2 to both sides cancels out the -2 and increases the value of 22 to 24. We are left w﻿ith 6x = 24
• ﻿Now we are to divide both sides by 6. 24/6 = 4, therefore x=4
