  • The last thing I learned was that the project- first approach allows students with lesson experience and expertise to engage in practices and use tools otherwise generally not available to them. (p.2) This is great for not only girls, but all underrepresented students to be able to use technology.
  • My name is Gabby Benton! I am excited to talk to you about broadening participation in computer science! 
  • Something I learned is that most programs aren't nitrguing to girls! They don't appeal to girls or promote them to be able to join these programs. 
  • Another thing I learned is that the Scalable games has discovered approaches to appeal to girls in programming. 
  • How can you still teach technology in schools that might not have the funding? 
  • How can I as a teacher improve participation? 
  • One thing to remember as a teacher is that all students are allowed and deserve a chance to be able to learn programming!
