  • The French and Indian War was in 1754-1763.  England, France, and Spain were fighting for land everywhere. Native Americans were their focus. They were fighting for expansion of territory, raw material, and new markets for exports.  This is how the taxes started because  of the expenses used for the war.

  • TAXATION WITHOUT REPRENTATION
  • When the stamp act was passed colonist were outraged with all the taxes and did not like them, but what the colonist didn't know was that this was only the beginning of many more taxes.
  • Intolerable Act 1774
  • Boston is now closed to merchants, and criminals are immune to prosecution .
  • Though it wasn't entirely the British fault because during the riot many colonist irritated and insulted the soldiers. The soldiers were later took to trial but only 2 were jailed and the rest were free. This angered many colonist thinking that any British soldier could get away with crime. The British had finally realized that the colonist were serious.
  • Battle of Bunker Hill 1775
  • We will fight to the end!!
  • On the night of May 10, 1773 Colonists dressed up as Native Americans and boarded a ship full of tea cargo and dumped it in to the harbor. This act was a protest towards the taxes on tea that were made by the British government. As a result of this the Boston Harbor was shut down until the 342 crates were replaced.  This was the protest that changed many lives and enraged the British government.
  • The Intolerable Acts closed Boston's merchant shipping and established a rule in Massachusetts. The rule made the British immune to the criminal prosecution in the colonies.
  • The colonist so strongly believed that they were stronger together and weren't going to let nothing stand in their way to freedom even though they were outnumbered.
