Storyboard Text

  • I've tried to imagine, just how it would feel. I mean to have a fireman burn our houses and our books
  • Didn't firemen prevent fires rather than stroke them up and get them going
  • We haven't any books
  • You got some?
  • In this scene, Montag is talking to Beatty about burning books, then the alram goes off
  • The four firemen arrive at the old woman's house. They crashed the front door open and grabbed the woman; she was not running, she was standing still. They started asking her about the books. Beatty slapps the old Lady.
  • Where are they?
  • You know where they are or you wouldn't be here
  • Have a reason to suspect the attic; 11 No. Elm, City E.B.
  • Stoneman held out a telephone alarm card with the complaint signed in telephone duplicate on the back that says that what's above in the top text box.
  • That would be Mrs. Blake, my neighbor
  • The men went down to the attic and a fountain of books sprang down. The woman was hiding the forbidden books in her attic.
  • The whole house is going up...I am counting to ten
  • Where's your common sense? None of those books agree with each other...The people in those books never lived. Come on Now!
  • The old woman refused to give her books away. Breatty then said that he'll burn the house. The woman didn't mind and stood there while Mortag was begging her to leave.
  • Go on...I want to stay here
  • You can't ever have my books,
  • The men watched as the house burnt down. They realized as they were watching that the words the the old lady said before had a meaning, but they didn't figure that out until later.
