A boy named Ransford and his friend Whitney are on a yacht going down the amazon river. Whitney fell asleep on the yacht while Ransford was still awake. Then he heard three gunshots, and he went to the edge of the yacht to see where they were coming from, and while Ransford was looking over the edge of the yacht he fell in the River.
My name is General Zaroff, and you are Mr. Ransford correct?
While Ransford was in the water he screamed at the top of his lunges trying to wake Whitney from his sleep. Whitney didn't wake up, and the force of the up stream was hard for Ransford to keep up with. So Ransford decided to swim to an island that was nearby that seemed very suspicious.
Yes I got board hunting animals, so I have started to hunt humans.
When Ransford gets to the island, he travels through the woods, and finds a mansion. Ransford then walks up to gigantic door and knocks on it. When the door opens he sees a man that looks almost like a giant, who was a guard. Then behind the giant Ransford sees man who seemed to be the owner walk down the steps towards the door.
When the man that Ransford met in the doorway of the mansion, he told Ransford that his name was General Zaroff. General Zaroff already new who Ransford was from the books that he wrote about hunting. The General told Ransford that he was a big hunter himself while the were eating dinner. He had hunted all kinds of animals, but he thought they were easy to kill, so he started to hunt humans that came to the island.
The General kept talking about hunting, and he mentioned that him and Ransford should go hunting, but Ransford didn't want to. Then the General mentioned a game, where he would supply you with food, hunting clothes, and a hunting knife. Then you would have to survive in the woods for three days without him finding you. If he didn't you won, but if he did you lost.
When Ransford and the General played the game, Ransford set up traps to try to kill the general. Each time the trap worked on one of his hunting dogs, or his guards. It never worked on the General. Even though the traps never worked on the General, Ransford lasted the three days. So when the General went to bed, Ransford appeared in his bedroom window and killed the General.
