  • My name is Billy Bones. Is this a quiet place?
  • My name is Jim Hawkins. Yes it is a quiet place!
  • This is a real treasure map. I will get you a ship and we will find that treasure together.
  • Squire Telawney, we found this map but now some nasty pirates are looking for us!
  • The Hispaniola is a wonderful ship, but I do not trust the ship's chef, Long John Silver. He is up to something!
  • Long ago in Bristol, a strange man entered a quiet inn. He had a large chest with him, a cutlass, pistol and a knife. A few weeks later an angry pirate called Black Dog came looking for his map.
  • My name is Ben Gunn and I have been on this island for many years.
  • That night Billy Bones collapsed after his fight with Black Dog. Jim found the map and took it to Dr Livesey and Squire Trelawney to ask them for help. Squire Trelawney said that he would pay for a ship and a crew to help Jim find the treasure.
  • Tie them up, get the map, that treasure will be mine! Ha, ha, ha!
  • Jim Hawkins, Dr Livesey and Squire Trelawney set sail on a ship called the Hispaniola. On board was a mysterious chef called Long John Silver. He had a wooden leg and a parrot on his shoulder.
  • Ha, ha, you lose! Ben moved that treasure years ago. I will take this treasure back to my mum and I will never trust a pirate again!
  • When they got to Treasure Island they found out that they were not alone. A man called Ben Gunn had been marooned there for many years.
  • Long John Silver and his men took the map from Jim Hawkins and Squire Trelawney and they set off to find the treasure and steal it for themselves. But Jim is not too worried!
  • Long John Silver uses the map to find the treasure, but when he gets there it has gone! Ben Gunn had found it already and hidden it in a cave. Jim and the crew set sail back to Bristol with their hoard. Long John Silver has to make do with a tiny bag of gold!
