  • Of course you can't stay in my house! I will have no soldiers living me with me, not today!
  • Excuse me sir, can we stay in your house? It is rather cold out here!
  • I really wish I could vote in the upcoming election! I really wish I had a say!
  • You didn't hear? You can vote! Every race and color can vote now!
  • I cannot wait to be president for the rest of my life! The people just won't stop re-electing me!

  • The 3rd amendment states that soldiers cannot demand quartering in a household where they are not welcome. This was a part of the Bill of Rights and included specifically because of the British troops.
  • I'm finally 18! I can vote now!
  • I thought you couldn't vote until you were 21?
  • The 15th amendment declared that all men, no matter their race could vote. This gave the newly freed slaves the ability to vote and be true US citizens.
  • You know what. I'm glad there is no more liquor. it was ruining our country!

  • The 22nd amendment limited the president to two terms in office. This happened after FDR served four terms and was put in place so one person did not obtain too much power
  • The 26th amendment lowered the voting age from 21 to 18. This was due to the Vietnam war when young adults complained that they could be drafted but couldn't vote for the man who enacted the draft.
  • The 18th amendment prohibited the production, transportation, consumption, and distribution of liquor. This was done as a result of the Temperance Movement and was later repealed with the 21st amendment
