Storyboard Text

  • Duck's Model Of Relationship Breakdown
  • Intra-psychic stage (Brooding)
  • I can't stand this anymore. Something has to change.
  • Dyadic Stage (Confrontation)
  • I would be better off without you!
  • Where has this come from?
  •
  • Social Stage (Gossiping)
  • I really mean it this time. I'm done with him.
  • In this stage someone becomes dissatisfied and weighs up the pros and cons and compare these against the alternatives. They are focusing on their partner's shortcomings and plan for the future.
  • Grave Dressing Stage (Moving On)
  • Yeah my last relationship ended rough but I learnt a lot about myself
  • Here the dissatisfaction is shared with the partner. This is one in a series of confrontations where problems are aired. This could have two outcomes: continue breaking up or repair the relationship.
  •
  • The End
  • The break-up is now public. The partner is seeking support from others outside the relationship. This friend is providing reassurance and putting blame on the other person.
  • You're too good for him. He cheated on you anyway.
  • The relationship is over now and he has come to terms with it. He has created his own narrative to maintain his reputation.
