  • It started raining so we went inside
  • oh look some cereal
  • Wow. I'm a bit hungry now
  • AHHHH! im shrinking
  • NO! That's not cereal
  • We went through the electron shell
  • The electron shell holds 2 electrons in the first shell, 8 in the second shell, 2 in the third shell and 8 in the fourth shell
  • It's electron configuration is 2,8,2
  • Magnesium has 12 electrons. This means it has 2 in the first shell, 8 in the second shell and 2 in the third shell
  • Valence electrons are those in the outer shell. Magnesium has 8
  • I was dragged through the nucleus
  • The atomic number is the number of protons. magnesium has 12
  • Magnesium's symbol is (Mg) the first letter is always capital while the 2nd is lowercase
  • It is the nucleus. The nucleus is where protons and neutrons are found
  • The Nucleus started growing...
  • Magnesium is in group 2, period 3.
  • A period is the rows in the periodic table. the groups are columns of elements
  • Magnesium was discovered in 1755 by Joseph Black and Humphrey Davey in England
  • It stopped raining... we kept walking
  • Well that was interesting.. lets keep walking
  • The mass number is the protons + neutrons. Magnesium has 12 protons and neutrons so the mass number is 24
  • Group 3 means that magnesium is a transition metal
  • Magnesium is an important nutrient that the body needs to function
