My name is Abraham Lincoln, and I am your 16th president.
We are great leaders!
Abraham Lincoln was the 16th president of the United States. He opposed the expansion of slavery. He was a Republican from Illinois. Abraham Lincoln was the political leader of the Union.
The Union had 4 military leaders. The main ones were Ulysses S. Grant and William T. Sherman. They were both smart and helped led the union to victory. The other two military leaders were George Mead and George B. McClellan.
One of the Union's military strategy was called the "Anaconda Plan". The Union planned to slowly choke and suffocate the South. This would then impose a blockade to halt Southern trade with the world.
The North had industrial advantages. They had 90% of the nation's factories.
The North also had a transportation advantage. 72% of the nation's railroad tracks were in the North.
A disadvantage was that the South had an agriculture advantage. This meant that they could produce fruits faster, which meant more food.
