I just turned 21 when credit card companies started over flowing my mail box with applications and different options and each card had different conditions.
I decided to go to my bank and see what different credit card options they offered, they referred me to a credit union.
I sat down with the banker and he said he had a great credit card that would work well for me and was recommended for people with no credit history. It had a low APR rate, no hidden fees and had a high credit limit .
A few months went by and I loved my credit card it was easy to use and convenient, the grace period was a nice thing to have and I made sure to pay my bill on time so I didn't get any late fees.
A year after getting my card I got my first credit report. My credit score was a 713. Which is 100 more than the average 21 year old credit score but I still put my car up for collateral just in case.
Soon after that I lost my job, I had still used my credit card for everything, losing my character and was not able to keep up on payments.
8 Months Later
I had sold many things to pawnbrokers, and then thought about going to a loan shark, but the interest is extremely high.
