The main character and his friend, Lou, are walking to school when they see a woman from New York painting "on their wall". They try and try to get her to stop painting on their wall, but she just ignores them and says she got permission. They call it their wall because when their friend died they carved his and their name's into it.
The Diner Fiasco
Do you have cheese in your Marconi? How many tomatoes are in the salad?
After school, the main character and his friend come to watch, along with some other people from the neighborhood. They questioned the lady but she ignored them she was also offered food but declined and said she had her own food.
Ruining the Mural
The women is offered food from two girls from the family tht owns the wall. But she declines the food and tells them that she brought her own food.
The lady from New York goes to the diner that the main characters mom works at, Lou and him work there too. They say that she is a lier and a thief now because she stole their wall and lied about having food. She also is very rude to their mom who is trying to serve her, she is rude because she keeps asking questions about the food that make no sense.
Umm N... How am I supposed to know. You get what Lou decides to put on your plate.
The two boys are fed up with her and want to ruin her mural by spray painting it with black paint. They dress up in black clothes after school get the spray paint to go and ruin it. When they get there there is a very big crowd surrounding the wall telling her how beautiful it is. They also find out she is their friends cousin. She made a mural to honor him.
She's his cousin!
The theme of this story is not to hate people just when you meat them because you don't even know them yet they might be good people you just don't know them. This is a good fit for this story because the main character and Lou jump to conclusions about the lady and think she is a bad person.
It's not nice to judge people just when you meet them, things might not seem as they appear.
