Debate on gun control by: Logan Wilkinson & Gianna Pellegrino is the regulation of the selling, owning, and use of guns.
The reasons why we should have gun control are: - would reduce gun deaths. - are needed to protect women from domestic abusers and stalkers. -Legally owned guns are frequently stolen and used by criminals
-Countries with restrictive gun control laws have lower gun homicide and suicide rates than the United States. -Civilians, including hunters, should not own military-grade firearms or firearm accessories. -Most adults that are gun owners support the fact that we should have more gun control.
The reasons we should NOT have gun control are: -The second Amendment of the Constitution says, "A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state" -We would be taking away a right we have had for years -Gun rights have been a tradition in America for years.
In nov. 26, 2013 study found that, between 1980 and 2009, "assault weapons bans did not significantly affect murder rates at the state level" and "states with restrictions on the carrying of concealed weapons had higher gun-related murders."
Both Hamilton and Jefferson would have the same opinion on gun control. They both would agree that we have the right to own guns and use them. Since they grew up in the time era they did, their mindsets affect their opinions because they are used to having gun rights so taking that away from them would not be good. They believe that the people of america should have the right to own guns and use them whenever.
