  • Did I start this?!
  • Oh no, everyone stop the fighting, we must be at peace!
  • On June 28, 1914, Gavrilo Princip (a young Serbian nationalist) killed Archduke Franz Ferdinand in order to heir to the throne of Austro-Hungarian Empire, in Sarajevo, Bosnia.
  • After the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, tension broke out in Balkans and thus began a series of events that led to WWI.
  • To those in the European continent, the Great War seemed as if it had come out of nowhere. As it begun the people enjoyed a long stretch of unparalleled peace and prosperity, unaware of tragedy ahead.
  • As most were affected by the Great devastating war, looking back, today most say that this tragedy steemed from long before the death of the Archduke.
