Victor gets a letter from his dad telling him that his youngest brother William is dead and has been murdered.
Victor goes back to Geneva to visit his family since his brother has been murdered
Justine, Victor's sisters who was a servant for the family, was accused for murdering William
Victor knew his creation killed William, not Justine, and it make him feel very guilty, "During the whole of this wretched mockery of justice I suffered living torture," (pg64 ch8).
Justine was put on trial and found guilty. The evidence was the picture of Caroline in her pocket, that was last to be seen inside of William's pocket. Justine was truly innocent.
Justine confessed to the murder even though she was innocent. She was executed and Elizabeth was mad for trusting that she was innocent, "How shall I ever again believe in human goodness? Justine, whomI loved and esteemed as mt sister, how could she put on those smiles of innocent only to betray" (pg68 ch8). Victor was filled with anger, sadness, and guilt
