Well it all starts with a bill. A bill is a proposal for a new law.
The Bill is introduced to parliament and they do the first reading. They do a debate and vote. If majority says no, the bill goes into the bin. If they say yes, it goes to the next stage
It would then go to the Select Committee. They research more about the bill and provide information to parliament. It could take them a long time before they get all their information.
This information goes back to Parliament and they have a second reading. They debate and have a vote. If majority says yes, it goes to the House Committee where they talk about it more and refine things.
If it gets past the House Committee, the bill will most likely pass. It gets a third reading were they vote again.
