  • On June 28th 1914 Archduke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated in Sarajevo. His assassin was Gavrilo Princip, a Siberian nationalist. The murder of the Archduke was the spark which started the war.
  • Weapons Of The War
  • There were two sides during WW1. The allies which consisted of Britain, France, Russia, Italy, and the US. Fighting against the allies were the central powers which consisted of Austria, Bulgaria, Germany, and the Ottoman Empire.
  • Effects Of The War
  • There were many weapons that countries created during WW1. Including Germany's new creation of the mustard gas, flame thrower, and new submarine designs. All countries used Artillery. Planes were used to but not as frequently as tanks. All countries had the ability of destroying each other.
  • Weapons Of The War
  • Mustard gas is a chemical weapon that causes severe burning of the skin. It was used by the German army in WW1. Gasses have killed over 1.3 million by 1918.
  • The war changed the economic balance of the world, Leaving many European countries soiled in debt. Killing 40 million humans and destroying families and leaving loved ones. WW1 was a deadly war.
  • The Machine Gun created invented by Hiram S Maxim in 1884 was the first automatic machine gun. In WW1 many different designs of this gun were made.
