I stepped out of the train as the cold wind blew on my face. I could hear people speaking in that british accent that i loved so much. I was finally back home in London. As I got home I knocked on the door and was greeted by the maid. Mary, who had been working in my house for years. She was an old lady as sweet as candy that took care of me and was sad to see me leave to fight for my country in the first world war. I immediately left my house without unpacking and went to get some food in the nearby bar, but to my surprise when I got home everything was perfectly unpacked. My first thought was that it was Mary so i just shrugged it off. After joining Mary in the dining room I went directly to sleep. That night I had weird dreams and heard strange noises, but I just thought it was just Mary
I have been having these dreams and hearing strange noises for a long period of time now, but one night everything changed. After confronting Mary for various times I finally decided to fire her. That night I went to sleep as usual and had a dream of a little girl that seemed familiar. I jolted awake and thought I saw a skinny figure standing by the feet of my bed, but it quickly disapered. After this experience the noises became louder and I knew it wasnt Mary because I fired her over a month ago. Things started to fall, especially at night , noises became intolerable. But one night I finally saw her and remembered... When I first started being a soldier there was a fire in a house near my campsite. A whole family was trapped and we saved them, except for a crying little girl, Elizabeth, I couldn't save her so I went outside. I could hear her screaming and pleading for her life so I went back inside to see if I could still help her, but it was aleady too late. I finally knew what was happening and why she was haunting me.
I've been trying to communicate with her but she doens't respond. One night I saw her again. She was at the foot of my bed staring at me with her bright green eyes. I asked her to stop but she didn't reply, she just looked at me and then vanished After thet night things got worse and the only way to stop it was to leave. Finally one night when I was alone I decided to grab the knife in my drawer and stab myself. And with my last minute alive I could see her smiling down at me ..... Today, January 18th 2017 is the 100th year aniversary of my death
