Galileo was born in Pisa, Italy on February 15, 1564.
Galileo was interested in astronomy. He began studying medicine around 1580.
In 1609, Galileo invented the telescope.
About four hundred years ago he studied and used the telescope to discover 4 moons rotating around Jupiter. He also studied Saturn and the phases of Venus.
Many of his inventions helped with the age of exploration including the Nocturnal and Horary Disk that dates back to 1647.
Galileo is very much relevant today because of all his ideas and his inventions. He gave evidence to the heliocentric theory and he innovated the telescope and made some discovered about outer space.
