Becky just graduated from college with a degree in nursing six months ago and she is trying to adjust to the work schedule. Becky is still not used to waking up so early in the morning.
What did I sign up for ?
When Becky gets to work she is ready for the shift which will last approximately 14 hours. Even though it is a long shift becky tries to stay positive.
I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO
Even though Becky tries to stay positive, she gets very over whelmed for all her responsibilities. This leaves Becky feeling stressed and depressed because she always feels like she is behind.
What is the point?
Becky spends all day helping sick patients and getting very emotionally invested in her patients which can be very draining for Becky. She thinks about how nursing school did not prepare her for the emotional intensity of the job.
Although the hospital that Becky works at has a mental health wing, she is too embarrassed to go seek assistance because she thinks it makes her look unstable and she does not want her co-workers to gossip about her.
At the end of Becky's 14 hour shift she goes home and goes to bed because she is too drained to socialize which also does not help with her mental health stability.
