Storyboard Text

  • One of the grievances is cutting off Trade with all parts of the world. This means that we can't trade our goods with any other part of the world but Great Britain.  The reason why I chose to say this grievance is because I think that this one was one of the most unfair grievances.
  • Ben Franklin, will you please tell us what the purpose of the Preamble is?
  • The purpose of the Preamble is to let King George III know that the colonies are breaking away from Great Britain.
  • Another one of the grievances is imposing taxes on us without our Consent. This is basically saying "No taxation without representation,". I chose to speak about this one because I think that is another one of the most unfair grievances and it should be mentioned.
  • The Natural Rights that we believe in are that all men are created equal,  and the people give their government the power. If the government abuses the power, the people can overthrow the government.
  • Mommy, what does unalienable mean?
  • Unalienable Rights are rights that cannot be taken away. The 3 Unalienable Rights are Life, Liberty, and Pursuit of Happiness.
  • I, John Hancock will sign the Declaration of Independence.
  • Who will sign this document?
  • July 4, 1776
