Good morning class today we're going to learn about the Kshmir conflict. Lets begin.
I WANT THIS LAND
NO I WANT THIS LAND
In India one state, called Jammu and Kashmir, makes up the southern and eastern portions of the region, totaling about 45% of Kashmir.
In Pakistan three areas called Azad Kashmir, Gilgit and Baltistan make up the northern and western portions of the region, totaling about 35% of Kashmir.
India and Pakistan agreed on a ceasefire in 2003 after a lot of bloodshed occured
Both nations were asked to withdraw their forces, and once this occurred there was a referendum that w as held allowing the people of Kashmir to decide on their political futures... but that NEVER ended up happening.
There was a huge militant attack that ended up leaving 19 people dead and blaming the attack on the Pakistan military groups. The Indian Military retaliated with attacks and cross-board raids.
