  • Tybalt: "I'll fight you." (he draws his sword)
  • Act 3: Scene 1
  • Romeo: "Noble Mercutio, put your sword away."
  • (to Tybalt) "Come on ,sir, perform your forward thrust, your passado."
  • Mercutio:"This calm submission is dishonorable and vile. The thrust of a sword will end this surrender (draws sword) Tybalt, you rat catcher, will you come fight me."
  • Act 3: Scene 2
  • Nurse: "Tybalt is dead, and Romeo has been banished. Romeo killed Tybalt, and his punishment was banishment."
  • Juliet": "What disaster is this? Has Romeo been killed, and is Tybalt dead too? Tybalt was my dearest cousin. Romeo was even dearer to me as my husband. Let the trumpets play the song of doom, because who can be alive if those two are gone?"
  • Act 3: Scene 3
  • Friar Lawerence: "Hold on, and don’t act out of desperation. Are you a man? You look like a man, but your tears make you look like a woman. You’re a shameful woman who looks like a man or an ugly creature who’s half a man"
  • Romeo: "Tell me, Friar, in what part of my body is my name embedded? Tell me, so I can cut it out of myself." (he draws his dagger)
  • Romeo: "Do so, and tell my sweet to be ready to scold me."
  • Nurse: "O Lord, I could stay here all night listening to such good advice. Educated men are so impressive! (speaking to Romeo) My lord, I’ll tell my lady you will come."
  • Tybalt comes to have a word with Mercutio about Romeo, Benvolio then suggest they speak in a more private area, Mercutio gets offended. Soon after Romeo shows up and starts having a disagreement with Tybalt so Mercutio takes it upon himself to solve the problem by fighting Tybalt. In result, Mercutio dies.
  • Act 3: Scene 4
  • Capulet:"I think Juliet will do whatever I say. No, I think she’ll do all that and more. I have no doubt about it. And tell her, listen to me, on Wednesday—Wait—What day is today?"
  • Capulet: "Monday! Ha, ha! Well, Wednesday is too soon. Let it be on Thursday. On Thursday, tell her, she’ll be married to this noble earl.
  • As Juliet was fantasizing about her and Romeo Nurse comes in with terrible news about Romeo and Tybalt. Juliet is then told about the death of Tybalt and the banishment of Romeo. Juliet can't decide to be angry at Romeo for killing Tybalt or grieve about him being banished from Verona. To comfort Juliet Nurse sets out to find Romeo so he could say his last goodbyes to Juliet.
  • Act 3: Scene 5
  • Capulet: "Forget about you, you worthless girl! You disobedient wretch! I’ll tell you what. Go to church on Thursday or never look me in the face again. Don’t say anything. Don’t reply. Don’t talk back to me."
  • Lady Capulet: "Shame on you! What, are you crazy?"
  • Nurse arrives at the house of Friar Lawerence to bring Romeo the news of Juliet's feelings about the situation. Once Romeo hears of Juliet's sorrow he tries to cut himself with his dagger. Being fed up with Romeo's ungratefulness about being banished instead a put to death Friar Lawerence goes off on him. After his pep talk Romoe rushes off to go see Juliet
  • Summary
  • In Act 3 Romeo was accused of killing Tybalt and was banished from Verona. Once Juliet heard the news, she was devastated. To ease her devastation, Nurse arrives at Friar Lawerence's house to bring the news to Romeo that Juliet wants to see him one last time. Later that night, Capulet and Lady Capulet talk about arrangements for Paris and Juliet to get married. Due to the fact that Juliet did not agree with the marriage, she decide to leave her house and look for advice from Friar Lawerence.
  • Capulet and Lady Capulet decides to arrange the marriage between Paris and Juliet on the upcoming Thursday.
  • Lady Capulet: "I’ll find out what she thinks about marriage early tomorrow. Tonight she is shut up in her room, alone with her sadness."
  • Paris: "My lord, I wish Thursday were tomorrow."
  • Paris: "Monday, my lord."
  • Juliet expresses how she feels about her planned marriage to Paris to her parents. When Capulet hears her response he instantly is appalled that she is refusing to marry Paris after all his work that he put in to find her a well educated husband. Capulet tells her if she wont marry she wont live under his roof. After hearing some advice from Nurse about why she should marry Paris Juliet is irritated about all the rude things she said about Romeo. Juliet then decides to go to Friar for a solution
  • Juliet: "I am not proud of what you have found for me. But I am thankful that you have found it. I can never be proud of what I hate. But I can be thankful for something I hate, if it was meant with love."
  • Juliet: "Good father, I’m begging you on my knees, be patient and listen to me say just one thing."
