  • James Quinn has a store and is worried about the water rising in the streets and he doesn't trust the dam.

  • The wave comes and they run for the hill, but Aunt Abbie with her baby and Libby Hipp with Gertrude turn back to the house.

  • Gertrude scrambles to get out of the house.
  • Resolution
  • Maxwell McAchren throws Gertrude through the air to the two men leaning out of a window in the white building on the hillside.
  • Gertrude is wrapped in a blanket and taken up the hill and shown to people.
  • Gertrude is taken to live with the Metz family in a tenement, housing five other families, there she shares a room with three grown women going by the last name of Bowser.
