  • ROMEO AND JULIET ACT III
  • Scene I
  • "Mercy but murders, pardoning those that kill," (3.1.207).
  • Scene II
  • "O, find him! Give this ring to my true knight And bid him come to take his last farewell," (3.2.155-157).
  • Scene III
  • "Ha, banishment? Be merciful, say 'death', For exile hath more terror in his look, much more than death. Do not say 'banishment'," (3.3.13-15).
  • Tybalt killed Mercutio and Romeo then killed Tybalt. Benvolio has explain the whole situation to the Prince. Althought the Capulets want Romeo killed for his actions, Benvolio convinces the Prince that Tybalt started it. Instead, the Prince declares that Romeo is banished.
  • Scene IV
  • "Monday, ha ha! Well, Wednesday is too soon. O' Thursday let it be. ---O' Thursday, tell her, She shall be married to this noble earl," (3.4.22-24).
  • Scene V
  • Juliet at first believes that Romeo was killed but the Nurse clarifies that it was Romeo who killed Tybalt. Juliet is very upset because the Nurse informed her that Romeo has been banished.
  • "Hang thee, young baggage, disobedient wretch! I tell thee what: get thee to church o' Thursday, Or never after look me in the face," (3.5.166-168).
  • Friar Lawrence informs Romeo that his punishment is he is banished instead of killed. Romeo is not grateful and very upset that he will have to live a life without his wife Juliet. The Nurse also stops by to fetch Romeo for Juliet.
  • Capulet and Lady Capulet decide that Juliet will marry Paris on Thursday.
  • Juliet and Romeo say their goodbyes before Romeo is banished. Juliet is grieving the loss of Romeo but Lady Capulet thinks she is grieving the death of Tybalt. Capulet states that if Juliet does not marry Paris then he will disown her.
