  • Today we are going to learn about Korea.
  • The Korea Peninsula is very mountainous. It is also slightly bigger than the state of Minnesota.
  • Cool what about the territory and who ruled the territory.
  • The territory was split into three kingdoms: The Koguryo in the North, Silla in the Southeast, and Paekche in the Southwest. The territory was governed by a heredity monarch and powerful aristocratic families.
  • What was their religion?
  • Buddhism was introduced to Korea and quickly became the state religion of the kingdoms. 
  • What did they adopt from other territories?
  • They adopted many Chinese political institutions to  unify their territories.
  • Who led the suffering of Korean people.
  • It began in the 13th century when the Mongols seized the Northern part of Korea.
  • Ok last question what were the Koeans forced to do for the Mongols?
  • Korean peasants and artisans were forced to build ships for Kublai Khans invasion of Japan.
